Breathe For Better Pelvic Floor Function
Breathing plays a HUGE role in pelvic floor health. As Dr. Sarah Ellis Duvall says, “It all starts with the breath.”
Do you pee your pants when you run, sneeze, jump, laugh?
Do you have prolapse symptoms, heaviness?
Suffer from hemorrhoids or constipation?
These are all pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms. They are all a side of effect of poor pressure management. What is pressure management? It's the bodies ability to manage intra-abdominal pressure. Think of your torso like a cannister, it's under pressure created by your organs pushing against your muscles, fascia and diaphragm. If you abdominals cannot manage it, then the pressure has to go somewhere. For many individuals it moves down on the pelvic floor ie. urinary incontinence or hemorrhoids. How can we help this? By breathing in a 360° breathing pattern! We want your inhale to go into your ribs, back and chest. This helps the abdominals expand, lessening the pressure down on the pelvic floor.
The exercises in the video teach your body how to get into a 360° breathing pattern. If you can consistently do these exercises daily for 4 weeks I promise you will notice a difference. For many it can be life changing. It's easy, takes 15 minutes and is super effective!
